How to measure required fields
Waist
- Button the jeans.
- Lay them flat with the top front edge of the waistband aligned evenly with the top back edge.
- Make sure the waistband is straight and parallel, then pull it snug.
- Measure straight across the waistband from one edge to the other.
- Double that number before entering it here.
If the waistband is drooping, not parallel, or not pulled snug, the measurement will be inaccurate.
Upper Thigh
- Lay the jeans flat.
- Place the measuring tape at the far edge of the crotch seam.
- Measure straight across to the outside edge of the leg.
Measure straight across from the crotch seam. Do not follow the curve of the fabric.
Shoulder
- Button up the garment.
- Lay the garment flat, front facing down, with the arms in a V shape.
- Measure from one shoulder seam to the other.
Pit to Pit
- Button up the garment.
- Lay the garment flat, face up, with the arms in a T shape.
- Measure from the edge of one armpit seam straight across to the other.
Sleeve Length
- Lay the garment flat.
- Measure from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.

How to measure - Help
Front rise
- Button the jeans and lay them flat.
- Smooth out the front rise.
- Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband.
Back rise
- Button the jeans and lay them flat.
- Smooth out the back rise.
- Measure from the crotch seam to the top of the waistband.
Knee
- Lay the jeans flat.
- Measure 12 inches down the inseam from the crotch.
- Measure straight across the leg at that point.
Leg opening
- Lay the jeans flat.
- Measure straight across the hem from edge to edge.
Inseam
- Lay the jeans flat and smooth the inseam.
- Measure from the crotch seam down the inseam to the hem.

- Measure from where the collar band attaches to the yoke straight down the middle.
- Measure to the longest point of the hem.
The MIJ19 Amaterasu Selvedge takes its name from Amaterasu, the sun goddess of Shinto mythology and the mythical ancestor of the Japanese Imperial Family. Her name, 天照 (Amaterasu), reflects both her identity and her role: ama (天) means “heaven,” while terasu (照) means “to shine” or “to illuminate.” Together, they describe her divine duty to illuminate the heavens and bring light to the world. Amaterasu is revered as the highest-ranking kami in the Shinto pantheon, standing above the countless deities often referred to as the “eight million gods.”
Just as Amaterasu’s light illuminates the heavens, the fabric is defined by brightness and warmth. Woven in Japan from 11.5oz selvedge denim, the warp yarns are rope dyed with natural indigo, creating a soft, luminous shade of blue. Beneath the surface, a beige weft imparts a subtle golden warmth. As the denim wears, the indigo warp gradually fades to reveal more of the beige weft beneath, producing a broad range of soft blues with warm undertones.
To preserve the denim’s hairy surface, rough texture, and unsanforized character, the fabric undergoes a Tempi treatment in Japan. This process removes the fabric’s residual shrinkage while maintaining its raw texture and structural integrity, taking the guesswork out of sizing while keeping the denim true to its original feel.
The MIJ19 is detailed with a sheepskin leather patch embossed with the Flower of Carnage logo, a micro busted outseam, 100% iron buttons, 100% copper rivets, hidden back pocket rivets, a peekaboo selvedge coin pocket, selvedge button fly construction, raised belt loops, and signature maple leaf embroidery on the right back pocket. The iron and copper hardware will develop a natural patina with wear, complementing the evolving character of the denim. Made in Japan.
Weird Guy is a classic tapered fit. Mid rise and fitted through the hips and thighs, it narrows gradually from knee to hem.

- We do not offer refunds; items may be returned for store credit (in the form of a gift card) within 30 days of order fulfillment. Items must be in new condition with original tags—unworn, unaltered, unwashed, and damage-free. Sale items are final sale and not eligible for store credit.
If the purchase was made in Canadian Dollars, store credit is issued in USD at the exchange rate at the time the credit is issued. At checkout, this credit is converted back to CAD.
