Prince of Slub Selvedge is a 23oz Japanese selvedge denim that continues the lineage of Naked & Famous’ most aggressively textured fabrics, following in the footsteps of King of Slub and Emperor of Slub.
Like its predecessors, Prince of Slub uses extremely slubby warp yarns that are heavyweight, irregular, and rich in surface variation, but introduces a newly developed weft to give this edition its own identity within the Slub series.
Where King of Slub pushed texture through custom-developed uneven yarns and Emperor of Slub amplified that effect through slow, low-tension weaving, Prince of Slub refines the balance. The result is a denim with intense tactile depth, pronounced peaks and valleys, and irregularities that catch light, emphasize wear patterns, and reward time spent fading it.
The fabric is left unsanforized and loomstate, meaning it remains exactly as it was after weaving, without pre-shrinking or finishing to compress the yarns. This preserves the raw slub character and allows the denim to shrink with washing and evolve dramatically with wear, delivering the transformation that defines the Slub series.
