Recycled Kimono Weft Selvedge

The Recycled Kimono Weft Selvedge is an 11.8oz Japanese Selvedge denim made with a unique and ecofriendly method of recycling kimonos. In this process silk kimonos are chopped up and blended. This material is then mixed with cotton and re-spun into new yarn. White spots called “neps” are found throughout the denim, when looking closer you will notice a few colored ones which are remnants of the kimono fabrics. Woven on vintage shuttle looms in Okayama, Japan the denim has a classic raw rigid texture. Cut, sewn, built in Canada with contrast stitching, classic redline selvedge ID, vegan apple leather patch, and silver metallic buttons and rivets.
