Indigo Depths: Unveiling the Deep Sea Selvedge Denim

To make wearing raw denim jeans more accessible, we introduced fabric washed options, addressing the often intimidating rigid texture associated with traditional raw denim. This approach allows both newcomers and seasoned raw denim lovers to enjoy the unique qualities of raw jeans with greater comfort from the start. We believe that the more comfortable you are in your jeans, the more often you'll wear them, which in turn leads them fading even more over time. The success of our fabric washed options has been overwhelming, encouraging us to expand our offerings. We're excited to introduce the Deep Sea Selvedge – a 12.5oz Japanese Selvedge Denim. With its indigo x indigo construction, offering a deeper hue inspired by the ocean's depths.

Like it’s other fabric washed counter parts (like the Oceans Edge, and Blue Wave Selvedge) the Deep Sea Selvedge goes though a fabric rise process.  This is done by first washing the fabric post weaving to remove the starches that give denim its crisp feel. This in turn softens the fabric while and enriching the fibers for a more textured feel. Importantly, this wash does not significantly alter the denims natural fading characteristics. In essence, we’ve pre-soaked the jeans for you.

Unlike the typical garment washes that often result in a pre-worn look, the fabric-rinse method applied to the Deep Sea Selvedge reduces shrinkage before the denim is cut and sewn. This ensures neater seams and minimal puckering.

The denim breaks from tradition and offers a deep indigo tone by combining and indigo dyed exterior warp and navy interior weft. You’ll also find other details like contrast stitching as well as black mill spec non reflective buttons and rivets.  You’ll also find a pull up deep aqua leather patch and traditional redline selvedge ID. Every pair is crafted in our very own factory in Quebec, Canada – testament to our dedication to preserving the craft of jeans making in Canada.

The Deep Sea Selvedge enriches our fabric washed series by introducing an elegant dark indigo option, offering fans even more ways to enjoy the unique experience of our denim.
