Introducing the Naked & Famous Denim x JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Capsule Collection

At Naked & Famous Denim, our passions go beyond crafting unique, quality denim. We are also big fans of Japanese animation, and JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is among our most favorite. So when our community called upon us to do a JoJo’s collaboration, we sprung into action. And today, we are thrilled to unveil a collection that fuses these universes: The Naked & Famous Denim x JoJo's Bizarre Adventure capsule collection. This exclusive line features selvedge denim jeans inspired by the main Joestar from Phantom Blood, Battle Tendency, Stardust Crusaders, Diamond Is Unbreakable, Golden Wind, and Stone Ocean.

In creating this collection, our aim has been to honour the iconic characters from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure in a way that pays homage to vintage denim production methods, Every stitch, every fold, every hint of color is a homage to the unique elements that define each Joestar. But, like a Stand hidden from the uninitiated, these tributes are designed to be discreet, adding to the mystique and individuality of each pair.

The beauty lies in the nuanced details – the selvedge ID, the custom waist button, the vegetable-tanned leather patch – each a covert nod to the Joestar they represent. These elements may be hidden in plain sight, but to a true JoJo enthusiast, they reveal a story, a character, an adventure.

The JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Capsule Collection will launch in two separate releases.

The first release will feature Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, and Jotaro Kujoh. It will be available on Friday, September 29th, starting at 11:00 AM EST.

The second release will include Josuke Higashikata, Giorno Giovanna, and Jolyne Cujoh. This batch will be available on the following Friday, October 6th, also starting at 11:00 AM EST.

The collection will be available in four fits: Super Guy, Weird Guy, Easy Guy, and True Guy.

 Jonathan Joestar Selvedge

The Jonathan Joestar Selvedge pays homage to the original Joestar and his epic journey in Phantom Blood. Crafted from 14oz Japanese Selvedge Denim, the fabric is dyed with a subtle "redcast" tone, capturing the radiant Hamon energy that Jonathan possesses. To enhance this "Hamon" effect, the denim incorporates irregular-sized slub yarns, creating a texture that mimics the appearance of energy and emphasizes vertical highlights. As the denim is worn, these highlights will fade at different rates, resulting in a unique pattern of energy-like vertical tones. The jeans are further enriched with JoJo-specific details: an embossed "Joestar" waist button, a printed pocket bag featuring Jonathan Joestar, and a vegetable-tanned leather patch adorned with a portrait of Jonathan in a fearsome battle pose.

 Joseph Joestar Selvedge

The Joseph Joestar Selvedge is a reflection of the dynamic spirit and playful nature of Joseph Joestar, as well as his captivating journey in Battle Tendency. Crafted from 14oz Redcast Japanese Stretch Selvedge Denim, the warm reddish tone pays homage to Joseph's Hamon energy. The inclusion of stretch references the modern backdrop of Battle Tendency while also alluding to Joseph's vibrant sense of humor. The denim features irregular-sized slub yarns that emphasize the fabric's vertical texture, adding depth and dimension. Over time, with wear and wash, the yarns will begin to fade at varying rates due to their non-uniform size, evoking a flame-like Hamon glow. As for details, the jeans come with various nods to the series: the Joestar waist button, printed pocket bags featuring a portrait of Joseph, an embossed portrait on the vegetable-tanned leather patch, and a white & green selvedge ID that mirrors Joseph's outfit, subtly incorporating his essence into every stitch.

 Jotaro Kujo Selvedge

The Jotaro Kujo Selvedge serves as an homage to perhaps the most iconic JoJo, the lead character from Stardust Crusaders. Crafting a denim worthy of Jotaro Kujo's epic stature required something equally iconic. To meet this challenge, we resurrected Elephant 7—one of the most legendary denims in the history of Naked & Famous Denim. This super heavyweight, big-slub, all-black Japanese selvedge denim tips the scales at 20oz. The all-black color scheme naturally aligns with Jotaro's uniform, while a golden selvedge ID complements the gold accents on his outfit. Created with giant-sized slub yarns, the denim offers maximum texture and grittiness. Further JoJo details are woven throughout: the palm symbol from Jotaro's hat adorns the waist button, a printed pocket bag features Jotaro alongside his Stand, Star Platinum, and an embossed leather patch showcases Jotaro in a fearsome battle pose.

Josuke Higashikata Selvedge

The Josuke Higashikata Selvedge honors the pompadour-sporting hero from the fourth installment of the JoJo series, Diamond is Unbreakable. Crafted from 12.5oz Japanese selvedge denim, the design takes inspiration from Josuke's iconic school uniform, blending a deep indigo-dyed warp with a black weft interior. The outcome is a sleek, inky-toned denim that evolves over time: as the indigo fades, light blue tones will emerge, contrasting beautifully against the black for a high-contrast mix of shades. Intricate JoJo details are featured throughout, including the anchor symbol from Josuke's uniform on the waist button, a printed pocket bag that showcases Josuke and his Stand, Shining Diamond, and a white and purple Selvedge ID. An embossed leather patch embellished with Josuke in a dramatic battle pose adds the finishing touch.

Giorno Giovanna Selvedge

The Giorno Giovanna Selvedge captures the aspirational spirit and elegance of the fifth JoJo from the series, Golden Wind. Crafted from 12.5oz Japanese Selvedge Denim, the fabric boasts an indigo warp juxtaposed with a weft color that echoes Giorno's iconic suit. This unique violet hue subtly peeks through the twill lines on the front face of the fabric, creating a dynamic interplay of colors. Intricate JoJo details abound, from the ladybug symbol on Giorno's suit featured on the waist button to a printed pocket bag showcasing Giorno and his Stand, Golden Wind. The Selvedge ID is a vibrant white and yellow, and the finishing touch is an embossed leather patch adorned with a dramatic depiction of Giorno in a battle pose, clutching a Stand arrow.

Jolyne Cujoh Selvedge

The Jolyne Cujoh Selvedge honors Jotaro Kujo's daughter and the sixth JoJo in the series, Stone Ocean. Crafted from 12.5oz Japanese selvedge denim, the fabric features a vintage aqua blue hue that echoes Jolyne's signature outfit. Woven with irregular-sized slub yarns, the denim emphasizes vertical texture and subtly references Jolyne's unique string-based Stand ability, Stone Free. The jeans are adorned with intricate JoJo details, such as Jolyne's butterfly tattoo symbol on the waist button and a printed pocket bag showcasing Jolyne alongside her Stand, Stone Free. The Selvedge ID comes in a distinctive white and green, and an embossed leather patch featuring Jolyne in a dramatic battle pose adds the finishing touch.
